This course is designed for psychologists, psychotherapists, and related professionals engaged in supporting clients’ quality of life, as well as those planning to work in this area.

We focus on vocabulary that is common across different therapeutic approaches and specializations. The aim is to build your competence in using language with greater precision and intention, expanding your vocabulary to enhance therapeutic communication.

Program:

The course consists of online materials and live sessions.
The five sections and their corresponding live sessions focus on the following topics:

1. Explaining your therapeutic approach to a client
2. First-session intake
3. Asking questions in therapy
4. Paraphrasing
5. Naming and describing emotions and feelings

Live sessions:

The training consists of five live sessions, each lasting 75 minutes.

When:

There are two groups:

Wednesday 1-2.15pm, every 2 weeks (CET time zone)
Sunday 3-4.15pm, every 2 weeks (CET time zone)

How each session works:

• Participants receive access to selected course materials in advance and are encouraged to review them prior to the session.
• During the live session, the key points are summarised and discussed. It is followed by guided discussion, case studies, and role-play activities.
• After the session, participants receive an additional set of vocabulary based on vocabulary, mistakes and grammatical details that emerged during the session.
• The last part is a progress review with a self-reflection activity and a quiz.

Recommended English Level

An intermediate level of English (B2) is recommended to fully benefit from the course content.
